I've been a mover for 30 years and never expect a tip. Anything is good... I'd take $20 for a single bed apartment for sure.

Even cheaper, if it's the end of the day... give them each a 6 pack.

I'm not tipping mine shite. We've been in our new place for two weeks without our stuff. They picked it up on May 6th, 10 days before we arrived to our house. I was told by the movers that they would personally drive it to our place in Maine. Yes, it is far, but they accepted the job after I told them the distance. total boxes to be moved is about 40 medium sized boxes, a wardrobe box and 3 TVs. No furniture.

On Friday they finally said they would be delivering my stuff between June 2-6.

frick Angel Van Lines and Mike that works for them. I've never spoken with such a rude individual. I was told several times that they just don't know when my stuff was coming up here because I didn't pay a lot and its going 1800 miles.

Used to work for a moving company for a summer. The pay was $13/hr, but most of the jobs wouldn't take more than two hours. If your fellas are in college, any tip $20 or over will make their day.

That being said, it kinda depends on the job. I've gotten stiffed on a 3 1/2 hour job moving a family of five's every little last piece of shite, and I've gotten a $50 bill for moving a couple bookshelves around for an old lady for maybe twenty minutes. Those would've made a lot more sense switched around, but hey that's people.

I also felt pretty weird when customers who helped with the moving process tipped. Then again it's always the folks who sit back drinking lemonade who didn't tip.

Also, tipping is fricking stupid. No one in service should have to rely on the generosity of an already paying customer to do well, and customers shouldn't have to feel guilted into paying more than they already have.
