I'm watching the WBRZ 10:00 news and the anchor girl on tonight only does weekends. Keller Watts as well it seems.

Does anyone know any local guys? How do these "part-timers" survive if they only do weekend work?

Also, how much do the 10:00 M-F guys/girls make? What about the morning crews?

They all have the do OK, I'd assume. It's mainly these weekenders I'm wondering about.

The weekend anchors will be field reporters during the week. They will do stories for the weekly shows or live shots for events, etc.

Columbus, MS CBS station uses MS State broadcast meteorology students for the weekend weather on the reg. I assume they don't pay them anything.

As far as the reporterettes are concerned, if they haven't graduated to a bigger market by 30 or so, they start looking around for a well-to-do local businessman (or his son) to marry

The guy I know couldn't even afford to play a $25.00 fantasy football buy-in. He admits he doesn't make much, about $18,000 max.

Some of these local news reporters are so bad at their job, I legit feel pity for them and I'm currently working a retail job.

Anchors of that caliber make about 35-40k. Producer and reporters make far less. The only people that make real money are prime time anchors.

I have a friend in WBRZ HR and he has seen the payroll. Of all the weekenders the average pay is around tree fiddy.

Not a lot. My oldest daughters upon her graduation from UNC, was a field reporter in Columbus, GA before getting a weekend anchor gig at WLEX in Ky ... it all lasted about five years. Then she went to law school at UCB in Calf and that was pretty much the last I've seen of her ... she went far leftwingnut libtard nutjob and I cut the money off.

She made $15k her first year in Columbus and was making $30k-ish her last year at WLEX.

She liked living a $200k a year lifestyle though.

Good for you. She doesn't deserve your money anyways.

A few years ago the weekend weatherman at one of the Alexandria TV stations sued them for wrongful termination. In the filings it was revealed that he was making about $12K a year.

I know a guy that does weekends in Montgomery. He told me he makes 15k a year. Insanity.
