I think you can genuinely enjoy law without succumbing to the idea you're part of some important cabal. I do think people often have to psych themselves into certain practice areas, leading to some hilarious results.

A ton but it comes at a cost—their reputation and integrity

I met a personal injury lawyer recently while watching my kids play at a trampoline park. The second he told me what he did I accidentally laughed out loud in his face.

He was hovering over an injured adult and giving his unwelcomed advice. When I asked him if he’s a doctor, he introduced himself and explained that although he’s not a dr he’s “seen thousands of medical files and has sued plenty of doctors.” For that reason, I laughed. I consider him a joke

That guy is in serious denial. Deep down, he's knows he has taken many sketchy cases. His angry reaction suggests that he knows it at least. Maybe there's hope.

How? By preserving injured people's rights, and obtaining fair compensation for damage done?

Or by causing accountability for wrong-doing?

Or by helping get dangerous products out of the marketplace?

Or by de-incentivizing polluters?

Try harder. Try thinking instead of parroting.
Or, maybe not.
