I'm going to go out on a ledge here and say more than it would cost to pay the round.
I've spent way too much at lauberge br and have yet to get anything but a weeknight room and a buffet.

Probably a lot more than what it would cost to play a round at full price.

I know, I'm just trying to make a logical argument to the wife that I should either gamble more to get it comped, or just pay the $250 or whatever it is and still gamble anyway
Basically I'm trying to confuse her into letting me do both

I dont think your wife will see any logic in gambli g more to save money
At least mine wouldnt
Even though she "saves money" when buying clothes that are on sale

You can play the Oaks for $50. Is Fallen Oak really five times better?

If you have to come up with a logical arguement then it's probably just best to gamble and pay for it.
Deal with the consequences later.
Just plan on getting it comped and when it doesn't work out, just pay for the round. Get her a nice monogrammed polo from the pro shop

It's harder because you have to hit over and under the trees.

Depends what you play. They will comp you more for playing slots than table games. I've never done the golf, but I get free rooms and food whenever I'm there, I even win sometimes. My last few times gambling, including a week in Vegas, I've paid for the trip (rooms already free) plus some additional profit on each trip.
ETA: if you play blackjack at the Beau, know that you are not rated unless you are playing a minimum of $25 per hand.

maybe they could give you a few dozen Pro V's for losing a little money in the Casino......that may be enough balls to get you through a round there.

The Oaks is fun, but from what I've seen it looks like a ranch compared to FO.
I'm not really planning on gambling to get a round comped fellas. If it happens though, I'll let you guys know what the final tally was

So you're not gambling at all now?

Oh no I'm gambling, I'm just not doing so with the intention of getting it comped.

How about this. Walk in with $250. Put it all on black (or red). You either pay for your round and have gambling money or you have to pay for your round and gambling money.

I would say at least $5,000. And it's not how much you lose but the $ wagered over a certain amount of time.
