I'm question this concept that keeping your wife is cheaper than the child support.

It’s cheaper to support one household than it is to support two like he will when they split. And you get to keep your assets intact rather than divided. I think that is why it is cheaper.

If she's a teacher in Louisiana...I would just put a monitor on her phone. She will sext or bang a student eventually and you will win.

Not being an arse but similar situation, You're screwed. No chance at getting 50/50 custody working 14/14 and with kid at that age. Not good 1 was paying $1600 a month for 2 kids

I guess all of that is dependent on how long they've been married and what the assets look like right now.

There are certainly situations where divorce is much more expensive than keeping your wife, but it's not cut and dry all the time.

Hell, you've got people in this thread saying they paid more than they were required because it was so cheap.

Absolutely. It’s not universal. My BF came out ahead per month, even after child support, by taking his ex off of his insurance. They have 50/50 custody & she works, so child support isn’t crazy.

Slightly off topic but a question regarding child custody. A buddy of mine got divorced a couple years ago and his ex got remarried, her new husband got a job offer out of state. His ex wanted to obviously move but my friend denied them being able to move out of state due to the child.

I've heard stories over the years of guys saying their ex kept them from being in their child's life and they only see their kids a couple times a year or haven't seen them in years or whatever. Basically, my friend's lawyer told him most of that is BS. It's guys who have a criminal background, abusive, or just don't give a shite and use that as an excuse to not being in the kid's lives. He said the way the system is set up, any father who isn't a drug user, abusive, etc who wants to be in their child's life, can be.

Just curious on how true all that is. Can a woman really just keep your from seeing your child or move off like that? Obviously in his case she couldn't, but maybe he just had a really good lawyer

Your buddy didn't keep his ex wife from moving lol. In most divorce decrees when there are children involved the custodial parent is supposed to ask the court for permission to move out of state, but in reality, they don't have ask there is nothing a court can do if a parent moves out of state with the child they have custody of.

It's probably also people who can't afford the legal battle. She can ignore their court ordered custody agreement & poison the children against their father. Or make up shite about him to try to keep him from getting custody. He can keep taking her back to court if he can afford to. I think the process becomes so draining that some guys just give up.

I don't know at what point a judge says that the parent is not allowed to move. How much say the other parent has. She can move anywhere if she can uphold the custody agreement.

I see, wasn't sure how that worked. Maybe he really just talked her out of it? I have no idea, hell maybe her new husband got turned down for the job. He just made it seem like his lawyer fixed it up where they couldn't take the child and move off.

They can do it until you pull their arse back into court. Most judges won't put up with it. It takes money on an attorney. Most women do it knowing the man doesn't want to go back to court\spend the $$$ to set them straight.

Well my buddy who married a fat chick he dated for YEARS prior to their marriage, had a child after marriage, she got weight loss surgery, cheated on him and then divorced him. Got the kid, got married to the guy she cheated on him with and just recently received a judgement in her favor to remove his last name from the child's birth certificate and have the child's last name changed to her new husband's who is a attorney here in baton rouge.

She's a fricking bitch of a whore. She fricked him over so badly. She's a horrible piece of shite.

Makes sense, figured you'd need to pay a lawyer a good bit. I wasn't sure if a woman can take them out of state regardless on how much you paid a lawyer to fight it. I've got several friends over the years who've dealt with divorces and quite a few where the woman made threats to not let them see the child, but those threats never came true, and pretty much all my friends have at least joint, or full custody.

If you're male and have anything, you would have to be mentally fricking retarded to ever get married.
