I lived in NOLA for 25 years and was summoned once, and that was for federal court.
I've lived in Ascension for 9 years and have been summoned 3 times....not coincidentally, twice during APPS "spring break".

I think twice for local. Once about a year ago for federal. I forgot to show up. I had to call them and make sure I didn't have a warrant and they said I was good.

Next week. Still waiting for exemption to be approved.

I had to report for federal jury duty today. Messed up my whole schedule and when I reported, they said it was cancelled. The security lady couldn't tell me if it was cancelled today or all together. So I have to go tomorrow and frick up my morning again

at least 10. Once when I lived in Dallas. And at least every other year in San Francisco and I've been here 18 years.
Only served on actual jury once and was the foreman.

When I was 20, I served on a jury for a double homicide. There was a strong self-defense case but the other jurors weren't having it, and he got charged with manslaughter. The other charge was clear manslaughter. The trial was pretty intense - they even showed us pictures of the inside of the dead guy's skull (as if we were looking out through his eyes)
I got summoned again at the beginning of this school year, but I wasn't in my home city so I had an easy excuse.
So yeah, twice before I turned 23.

They often have a telephone recording or website to check in with to see if you have to appear. Look into that, and it may save you some time.

Once in Texas, no connections here, went and was dismissed at 2:30pm

Several times. The last time I was the first one called into the jury box and the first one sent home after the judge wasted half the day letting the lawyers delay jury selection.

In 35 years of my life in Louisiana, I was never once summoned. In my first 4 years in Texas, I've already been summoned.
