No. I refuse to let go.

You came in all high and mighty trying to show everyone how smart you are but using math and formulas, and you were horrendously wrong on two of the three (mental) math problems.

I won't let it go. I can't let it go. To the ends of the earth I will shout your idiocy.

Gotcha.

My wife and I looking at $400-500 because we have dual incomes.

I'd go $300k or less with just me.

Hence why I said im not buying anytime soon

The goal is to put away 2 grand a month plus my bonus (7-10k).

In reality, im about 3 years out if I want to buy solo.

Agreed, I wouldn't go much more than 300-350k if you're only bringing in 100k gross.

Wait...

Is that seriously how you interpreted that????

It was in the middle of the workday and I was working the three problems in the reply box because I was too lazy to use Notepad++

We live in a much cheaper area, but we have dual income and only a 1300 monthly payment on our house.

Being house poor would suck.

The point of the thread was to see how fast you could correctly answer all three problems in your head. You typed out formulas and used them incorrectly.

You'll want a lot more than $100k down to get that solo.

My first house was $170k and I was making $70-80k gross

Granted it was in Louisiana, but still.

Btw, why do you want a giant house if you're single?

So you hold some super crazy grudge against me because instead of erasing my work I just left it?

Are you aware other people got the questions wrong too?

Seems super passive aggressive for like no reason at all...

Because I have always wanted a big home? I lived in small places all my life.

325k 30 yr amortization @ 4.15 percent is 1597 a month.

100 bucks more than what I pay now.

I assume to tack on an extra 500 for PT and Insurance.

it's a culmination of your stupid posting. This one adds to it.

And fwiw, I don't hold a grudge against you. I just have a poor opinion of you. That previous post was (partly) a joke.

It's mostly your stance on vacations too.

now you're moving goalposts. Assuming a $125k down payment. Up from $100, when earlier stated you have $25

2800 no kids.

People act like that's too much for 2 people, but it's really not. We have friends and family stay in the guest bedroom a lot. Downstairs is only 3 rooms, one is music room, one a living room, and a home gym. It works really well for us. I don't know why people with multiple kids would live in something under 2000.

Entire generations of people were raised in that and less. You’re just spoiled rotten, and although not entirely your fault, you really should reflect upon it, and recognize it for what it is. Raising families in a 1500 sf home is not unprecedented. For many still living today, it was the norm.

It is seen as not as easy anymore because kids don't go play outside all day everyday anymore. Kids play inside on video games and tv all day so the house seems smaller when they and their friends are inside all day.

And truthfully, that’s a whole other problem in and of itself resulting in social difficulties later in life, but it is still very doable.

Did you miss the part where TH03 said save 100k and avoid PMI and I said "That's the plan."
