I don’t know what you’re doing, but I wouldn’t call it living.

I enjoy food but am not overweight.

Is a 1000 calorie meal more enjoyable than a 700 calorie meal? Maybe slightly but there is definitely diminishing returns. Same with alcohol, sex or any other vice. Moderation and self control…

My grandpa you to say "you don't eat when you are hungry, you eat to keep from getting hungry". Have a scheduled time to eat, it doesn't matter if you are not hungry.. Eat and stop when you are full. You will consume a lot less food this way,

Going to a new city?

I'm eating for pleasure. However, especially in southern cities at really popular restaurants, they give you wayyyyy too much food. I usually end up eating 1/3 of the food so I don't feel like shite all day.

If I have a lot of work to do, I'm eating only to get through the day.

If it's a slow day and I'm not in a rush, I eat healthy and try to enjoy the food.

Evenings trip me up a lot, though.

You don't know who on this board is fat or thin. Plenty of thin people enjoy good food.

I’m talking about denying yourself the little pleasures in life. The vast majority of people would agree that a good meal or nice cocktail/glass of wine to be one of life’s pleasures. If you deny yourself these pleasures as a rule 100% of the time it’s a little cultish. Unless you’re a true alcoholic who needs to abstain from alcohol of course. But most people can enjoy a moderate amount of alcohol and fine dining on occasion without negative repercussions.

"Moderate consumption."

I learned my lesson on this during divorce.
A fascination with sex is as bad for you as overeating.

We should eat prison food. Then we can lose weight. Prison food is terrible. If you don't believe me, then just ask Prison Mike.

I just had a very pleasurable brunch, fried bacon with fried eggs…

You go ahead and eat your tofu and almond milk.

I would rather die an early life than live one like yours.

I don’t get people who obsess over health to the point they don’t enjoy anything life has to offer.

Sure you might live longer. Congrats on spending the last decade of your life in a nursing home alone with dementia and having someone wipe your arse and feed you

I’d rather live life good and die at 80 than deal with that

People who are hungry do. Water’s pretty pleasurable too when you’re thirsty
