In the Big Rock Candy Mountains,
There's a land that's fair and bright,
Where the handouts grow on bushes
And you sleep out every night.
Where the boxcars all are empty
And the sun shines every day
On the birds and the bees
And the cigarette trees
The lemonade springs
Where the bluebird sings
In the Big Rock Candy Mountains.

Paradise once existed for me in the aftermath of Katrina, as my late fiance and I surveyed everything that we lost.

Yes, we lost everything- but the same force that took everything from us, also put us on the path to meet up at that time.

We just looked at each other, he took my hand and we wisely decided that everything we had lost was nothing compared to what we gained, which was each other.

We just took each others hand and ran for it (our future and happiness). We just loved each other and loved spoiling each other in sweet ways. Nothing grand, just loving, sweet and above all, funny. Life was an adventure.

Our romance (hardly typically romantic, lol but magical nonetheless) was one of crowded living, gutting houses, throwing out destroyed lifetimes, figuring out what the hell to do next.

Is there paradise beyond that for me? Maybe, I have to believe so. He is the reason I believe is so many things. Guys like him do exist (and he was no where near perfect which is just how like a person).

If there is a paradise beyond life, then he is waiting there for me ( along with mama, my sis and my BIL who all died suddenly this year).

It has been a rough year for me with all the deaths so kinda take it light on slamming me for the crap i say.

Also, thank ya'll so much for keeping me laughing thru this hellish year. You smartasses can always make me laugh with your commentary. Brutal, sometimes wise and so often funny.
