what is the deal with El Sitio on the Airline Hwy in Prairieville
It's a Latino bar that pulls a crowd from Baton Rouge whenever there's a good DJ playing. I've been in a few times when half drunk and the girlfriend wanted to salsa dance (not that either of us has a clue about salsa dancing). Friendly crowd and definitely some women to look at.

I’d fricking kill myself if I had to be around those kinds of people on a daily basis.

What happened to all the strip club bars?
Posted on 12/14/22 at 3:54 pm to Shexter
I've had a few drunken nights there. It's my favorite dive bar but have not gone in a year or so. Was better with the previous bartender but the new one is pretty cool too.
Their prices were great. Bourbon doubles for something like $6 at one point

Schools and daycares popped up around them. When the strip clubs switched owners, they couldn't get the permits transferred.

The Ascension Parish Council passed an ordinance to stop any more strip clubs from popping up near churches, schools, or daycares. Escapades had been around for a while, so it was grand-fathered in and can stay put.
However, Escapades recently closed, and now, the owners are getting the building ready for a new tenant, which happens to be a new gentlemen's club. Kathryn Goppelt, an Ascension Parish resident, believes once Escapades shut down, the agreement that let it remain in business there ended, and any new club would have to follow the new rules. "This is one of the most populated places of the parish. There is a place for these types of clubs, but not in a heavily-populated area," she says.
Goppelt and her attorney are now suing Ascension Parish, citing an ordinance that was passed in 2003 that states sexually-oriented businesses must, among other things, be at least 3,000 feet away from libraries, homes, schools, and daycares. Escapades is clearly closer than that. In fact, it's only about 800 feet away from a nearby daycare.

Appreciate the Props …
“That’s Him” ? I mean it is me ?????
Il give some facts
It’s a great Dive bar
Great TVs to watch games
It’s NOT A SWINGERS Bar …
I mean I’m sure there are swingers who come in like every bar but there are no “nights”
No squirrel stew , the owner is a phenomenal cook and cooks 6-7 things …. None hunting related lol
It’s a melting pot
It’s got it’s 25 year regulars , it’s got it’s neighborhood following, it’s got it’s plant workers.
I’m no longer associated with the place so I’m stating facts not selling anything.
What sets it apart is it’s a marathon bar .. it can go from a bunch of 70 year olds listening to Van Broussard to a packed house of 25-45 year olds “ backing that arse up”
It WAS A TON OF FUN….. new workers have taken over ….. up to them to keep it going.
AP has some great dive bars … the people watching is off the chain.

Not sure how old that article is but the attempted logic is hilarious. Between "churches" and daycares, those have to be the 2 easiest businesses to declare. I've literally (and I hate the overuse of that word) seen several instances of both consisting of a trailer of shitty "house". If you dropped a pin on everything that people consider either a daycare, school, or "church", in Ascension Parish, drew a 3000 ft circle around that pin and deleted everything within the circle, you end up with a black hole.

I have a few drinks at the Cottage once or twice a month. Stop in at Fat Cats also. Good times man.

You are correct. I had to check. Apparently its one fat cat, not two or more. The more you know!
