Nope, the 90210 is not the most expensive zip code in California. That honor belongs to Atherton.

Atherton is located in the San Francisco Bay Area - one of the regions experiencing skyrocketing home prices. According to Zillow, home values in this zip code reached a low point in summer 2009 when the median home value dipped below $3 million. Now, the median is over $6 million. And just to add to those crazy financial figures, Atherton’s median household income is in excess of $250,000.

That doesn't add up.

If you are making 250k, you don't need to be living in a 6 million dollar house

With that area, they might only note that salary, but I bet many started early with tech companies and had awesome stock options, etc.
The salary isn't everything

My aunt does. Her house is worth almost double the average, although she doesn't have near that much invested in it. They're lived in that house for almost 30 years and did some very well done renovations throughout that time.

And it's a block from the parade route, so I'm super jealous of it

What do averages have to do with it? Those are median prices, not average prices.
