I work 40. Still an old school industry that wants to see butts in seats but the positive is I'll never get fired and never work more than 40. 10 minute commute max on my bike.

Golf 3-4 rounds a week during the summer which is a good work/life balance for me.

Single, no kids, no direct reports. Used to have 6, but switched companies and went from a manager to senior level type engineer. The senior level position is my happy place. Same salary with no real responsibility.

Now that I'm in industry 45-50 hours, with 4 direct reports. As things slow down and we get some new hires up to speed, I'll be back down to just over 40.

Depends. I'm salaried so, for the most part, as long as my work is done my boss doesn't mind if I take off early sometimes, or if I have other engagements (doctor, dentist, etc). I also often have to wake up in the middle of the night to do work, and I always sleep in afterwards to make up the time. I also sometimes get a comp day if I've been waking up a lot for work. I'd say I probably average 35-40 hours/week.. some weeks would be closer to 55, others can be as low as 30.

That's if he only works 5 days a week. I'm minimum 6 days, usually come in on sunday for a few hours too

People who work 65+ usually are working 6 days a week minimum. It's brutal to work more than that in 5 days

30-40 Dec-Feb

60-90 March-Nov

Co-Manage with another guy. We don't really report. We have a budget meeting once a year and beyond that, it's more of a what did y'all do this week type conversation.
