Literally the only reason to have Facebook or Insta IMHO. I've had nothing for a few years but I've been contemplating hopping on Insta. Never had one, but seems less aggravating.

I deleted mine 3+ years ago and as dumb as it sounds I’m pretty sure it changed my life for the better.

Kept my insta so I could follow meme pages and arse.

I was an early and enthusiastic FB guy, volume-wise. I terminated it in 2012. The pro is no FB drama, your identity is infinitly safer,. The negative, is that being off FB is like being dead to hundreds of people. You cease to exist. Which, actually may just be another good thing, probably.

Perfectly said.

Honestly I hope Facebook nose dives one day like MySpace. The place is a cesspool of the dumbest people on earth, sprinkled with normal people.

Life is much more peaceful being out the FB loop.

Got off a Facebook about 3 years ago. It was definitely the right move. I haven't missed it at all. I am especially glad I got off of it before the elections. That would have been unbearable.

Back in the day we had a Gentleman's Politics Circle. It was guys I grew up with mostly working professional musicians and their friends. We disagreed, but we were friends. It was awesome. Liberals, Conservatives, Libertarians, everybody had a voice. But then people who weren't really friends starting chiming in with low-level trolls. The whole direction of it completely deteriorated over time with the advent of the SJW movement and this idea of theirs that disagreement is a character issue and that one should be punished for thinking incorrectly.

It became scary in it's intellectual and emotional infantilism. I'm sure it's infinitely worse now. I could see a day where I'd return, but only to establish a communications lifeline, not to wax poetic about my DEEP THOUGHTS on life. I can annoy the shite out of people here with that.

.

Yeah, those don’t sound like people who you’d want to invest much into having a relationship with anyway
