You can get high while taking subutex = no naloxone

That is another myth that a lot of people believe. Naloxone is out of your system within like an hour, its the bupe that keeps you from getting high because the bupe bonds to the receptors and opiates/opiods can't get past it.

Ya bro....you should have stayed with the vicodin. You are right that a year can make a huge difference and hopefully in a year you are 100% clean. You CAN do it!

So what was your motivation to get clean? Seems to me, as a non-addict, that there is a figurative button that needs to be pressed to realize the damage you're doing to yourself and/or others.

I am sure it does. Take a week off of work, stop on a Friday and then you will have 10 days to get clean before you have to go back. Just hole up and sweat/puke/shite it out and you will be fine!

Well of course but it will be really bad days 2-4 then it will get easier. By day 10 you will be totally fine, physically at least.

ETA: Look into Imodium. On Topix there is a HUGE thread about people using Imodium to stop and they have zero withdrawals, its crazy!!!!

I've had my share of surgeries and procedures and I love that stuff they put in the I.V.

Demerol is good stuff.

Wish you the best Chef.We all fight our own demons.

I actually just lectured my stepdaughter on the subject of drug addiction. She is young (12), and she has the attitude that drug users are Losers and bad people. I was very stern with her. I told her to pray for those who suffer with addiction. And I warned her that it could happen to ANYBODY. I actually got pretty upset with her over it. I hate that she was raised to be so haughty. I see people struggle with addiction every single day. I've lost countless friends to it. People from bad families, people from great families. Addiction is something that touches us all in some way.

One guy that stands out is a guy that I used to be really good friends with. When we were kids, he would always be dressed in his Sunday's best, even on Saturdays. When we would party, he would make fun of us for doing certain things and that he would never touch "the stuff".

He got into drugs in his mid 20's. Last I heard he broke into a cop car to sell shite for scripts and crack.

I post on a Forum dealing with Pain issues.

I've seen at least one person claim it had some opiate in it.

I know Peragoric had opium in it.You could buy big bottles.I think it was for baby's diarrhea.

My bottom out story was down there

Went out behind the wheel on st.charles one night. somebody called 911 no idea who and was blue with no pulse when they got there. took me to charity hospital and hit me with the paddles and that narcan. I came to with my wrists zip tied to the bed mad as frick that I wasn't high anymore. kept trying to kick the doctors and one of them call me a worthless junkie and said they shoulda let me die. No shite ill always remember that

I finally signed out AMA and took a cab straight to my dudes place for dope. didn't even go get my car till the next day. good times

Tell her that in your family you have a genetic flaw that makes you die if you do drugs even one time.

Education for the little ones is key IMO. I'm a square in the sense that I've never used, but when thinking back, my parents never really lectured us on it.

That sucks about your friend. I think that jail would probably be a good place for him. A guy who I went to LSU with had a 36 ACT and two years later, he ended up selling his mattress for crack - seriously. His folks had to come pick his arse up and take him back home to N LA. The power of drugs is freaking amazing that even brainiacs can't resist. Appreciate the insight as well

It does but it doesn't cross the blood brain barrier so it doesn't get you high. I guess it does take away all of the physical symptoms of withdrawal though, you just have to take A LOT. Like 20 to start and then like 5-10 every couple of hours. I have no experience with this so I don't know if it works but I was reading a forum awhile back while looking for ideas to help a friend and literally hundreds of people swore by it. I told my friend about it but he never tried it because he is a huge turd!

Ya but subs half-life is like 10x as long as other shite. Plus weren't you taking like 2-4mgs a day when you stopped? That's a HIGH amount to stop cold turkey.

Little does she know that her own father was absent for most of her life because he was in and out of both rehab and jail for prescription drug use and cocaine.
