I've never used my stamp either

Same, I let it lapse quite some time back. If I were seriously looking for work outside of the places where I am known, I would get it reinstated.

although the $1600 worth of books for transportation was quite heavy to lug around

Transportation is what I'm going to do. Didn't pass the geotech one in Oct. I hated wastewater so much that I don't wanna touch water resources

Thought about doing structural as that is what I'm doing now but all those books and codes scared me away. Wonder how it would be without them.

Enjoy the lack of liability.

Your still have liability with your signature alone. Your stamp is a means of conveying your qualifications to others, particularly regulatory agencies.

Is the testmasters class still a thing? Made passing transportation a breeze for me. Hopefully you won't need it after this exam, but I highly recommend it.

Yeah I have the new one that looks like it was revised for the CBT version. It didn't help squat with geotech though

That's my degree. That was also the degree of my two mentors in control systems.

I'm more of a Redneck Engineer. Everything I fix works 50% of the time, every time!

When people ask me for a guarantee of what I'm doing I tell them when I am finished, I guarantee it either will or will not work.

Plus my motto for stuff I am trying to fix is that either I will fix it or break it so bad they need to order a new one.

I'm an engineer but most likely not the type you are referring to.

Edited to say: locomotive engineer

Lulz. People that harp on the PE are generally the least competent. External validation doesn't work when people get to know you.
