roadside memorial

I thought that’s why they invented graveyards. Or maybe it was the smell. Either way I’d like to shake the guy’s hand.

I think it should be 30 days. They are distracting to drivers.

At least we aren't as bad as in Chile. They are everywhere down there. Very elaborate. Pic is off the Internet, but if I didn't drive past this exact one, I drove past 10 that were similar and 20 smaller ones in one 4- hour drive.

I feel like I see the same ones on the side of interstate for years. Not that they continue to dress them up, but same cross.

Whenever I see one I think to myself, wow, I’m passing in the same spot someone was killed. It could have been me. So the next time I pass that spot I remember that someone was killed and I take it easy.

The thing that gets me is that if anyone dies in some other way than a car accident you never really see a memorial other than their grave site.

Not that I don't agree with you there, and this is a totally different situation, but don't they still have spots in Europe for fallen soldiers from WWII?

Placing a road side memorial in a right of way is illegal in Tennessee. The maintenance crews are supposed to remove them. However, based on the number I see I think the road crews don't want any bad karma.

IS that ghost bike still up on Perkins? I lived right by there and was driving home drunk the night that happened. I thought it was a checkpoint and got scared as shite. Lucky for me, it was the scene of an horrific accident and not a checkpoint. Not so lucky for the guy hit on the bike.

Quite the opposite of luck in that spot that evening.
