Mine have been married for 56 years. Only disagreement in recent memory was when mom didn't think dad should wear his Let's go Brandon shirt to church.

Kids pick up on that stuff and your number one priority should be making sure that they aren’t feeling like they are in the middle of a battle.

I come from a home where my parents stayed together until the kids moved out, and then my dad filed for divorce. I wish so badly that they would have gotten divorced while I was a kid. My home life was toxic, and it wasn’t until I was an adult that I realized just how bad it was. Really messed me up and took me a long time to figure out why I was in a cycle of toxic relationships and self-destructive lifestyle. I think I did ok for myself in the long run, but I wonder sometimes how I would have turned out otherwise.

Side note they've been divorced now for 13 years and my mom still is visibly upset when he's around. Dad just wants to be able to be civil and not combative for his kids and grandkids.

I been divorced twice. Yes, it's true I did not learn the first time. I was over both marriages before the divorce. Never spent 1 day wishing I'd get back together with either. Much happier now as a single man.

Also, I am not good at marriage.

It depends on your Age at the Divorce.

As for my own took about 8 months. That was in 2013. One of my top moves ever

Divorced for a while after a 14 year marriage and a few kids. Both ex wife and my parents are still married, se we can't blame them. I am over it - mainly indifferent to her. Zero communication other than kid stuff. She still seems a bit hostile though.
