They already charge a delivery fee... no need to go the 3rd party/grub hub
/waitr route.

Does anyone who delivers pizza know that if they have a wreck, their insurance company will deny the claim if they didn't add a commercial use rider to the policy?

Not true. Not all auto policies are the same and it depends on the amount you drive for business.

A family member runs some pizza restaurants. I was talking to him about this a few weeks ago. They do their own delivery and also deliver through Waitr. He said that they worked it out, and it's cheaper to deliver through Waitr than it is to pay for a driver to be on shift.

This probably is legitimately something that could end up happening with these apps taking over the delivery completely.

Just this past week Waitr announced they will be instituting fees equaling up to 25% of the amount of the food order on the restaurants who they deliver for and the restaurants will not be allowed to charge extra for delivered orders.

I’ve been avoiding Waitr since this announcement.

Went and got pizza last night at a local place in this city. 1 location, hole in the wall place.

They had 2 delivery cars parked outside, smart cars that were basically car billboards for the company. Free advertisement till 2am everyday on the roads helps in a small way

As someone who's been in two wrecks while slanging pizza, you quickly have someone come get the pizza if you haven't delivered it. Remove all signs. And tell the insurance company you were on way home from work. If you tell them you were delivering pizza, you're fricked.

Who is dumb enough to have a complete stranger deliver food that don't work for the people that is fixing said food. Just another chance of some crazy to give you extra sauce.

You think people delivering pizzas for dominos has some greater code of ethics?
