I worked at the Caterie back in the 1980's. We had everyone from the college ranks to old folks hanging out there. Many nights we had issues getting the large amount of drunks out by 2:30am. Many would just refuse to leave. So, when it got to that point, a few drops of strategically place ammonia drops throughout the place would change their drunk minds with a quickness. Get your arse out...we gave you an extra half hour and you still won't leave.

I hope all you frickholes that go in late and stay after they are close have to stay late at your jobs for no reason other than someone is a jackass.

If it says they are closed at 10, they are closed at 10. That doesn't mean to walk in at 9:55 and try to create some dish, not on the menu, hoping they will name it after you.

You are not special. If you have waited until closing time go to The Awful Waffle.

Almost as bas as when someone expects me to give them 20% of my bill no matter how bad they were doing their job.

Believe it or not, restaurants understand that people take time to eat and don't plan on leaving at the time the kitchen closes. Shocker, I know.

My observation has been nicer restaurants have no problem with people staying way past closing time. They understand that people are paying top dollar for their food, and it’s just as much about the experience. So, if a fancy restaurant says they close at 10, they generally mean the kitchen closes at 10. Patrons can stay significantly longer.

Something like chipotle and the door is locked at closing time, they don’t want anyone in there a few minutes past closing time, and everyone is gone within 30 min of said closing time.

Finish your whiskey or beer. You don't have to go home but you can't stay here.

Courteous people arrive in time to finish their meal and after-dinner conversation before closing time.

If there are extenuating circumstances where you have to stay any significant time after closing (more than five minutes), take care (by tipping) those who stayed to help you or who were delayed leaving because of you.

That is actually not true and most restaurant owners would be pissed if they knew people were being turned away before the kitchen closes.

I worked in a restaurant for 10 years and never once did anyone expect to leave as soon as the kitchen closed. That's just not how it works.

Also, I have to stay at my job late almost every fricking day because of someone else. It's called being responsible and a good worker. Get the frick out of here with your bullshite.

Everything you say is true and I wish all restaurant workers had the attitude you describe. But, I still think it is rude to stay over, though you can assuage that rudeness by tipping well.

Now I'm paranoid about typing anything.

I was distracted. My brother has some friends over to watch the golf game at my house (I'm doing the catering LOL). They are going wild (not football wild, but pretty close).

Really?

It is a fact that technology is often evil. Do you use Facebook? If you do, everyone pretty well knows your business. Cell phones? Sketchy as hell plus people are rude when they use them.

I can't remember if this was your post or someone else's, but common courtesy is definitely not overrated. I am a huge believer in common courtesy.

Seriously? Do you like it when people are rude to you? It is another conflict I have with my friends who are progressives - the belief that they can and should trample over anyone who disagrees with them.
I really get irritated when they want to talk over someone (usually loudly) who disagrees with them. Let the opposition have a say.

The "sheep of the masses" are those who do not see all the sketchy behavior that exists. "Chemtrails are just ice crystals." Right. Ice crystals that damage the grass and put spots on the leaves in my backyard.

Yes, I know that last phrase is not a sentence.

Ice crystals will certainly frick up some leaves and grass. There’s no debating that.
