Why do some on this board always blame demographics? People of all colors and ethnicities commit gun violence in this country, from gangbangers to emo mass shooters.

Because the morans believe certain minorities are inherently bad. If all minority crime were erased in the USA, we'd still have one of the highest rates of violence and murder in modernized countries.

I'd say that homogenous countries have less violence...but that wouldn't be true across the board.

It likely has to do with the fact that, unfortunately and as a legacy of our own greed, poverty is largely divided along ethnic lines in many places.

So it becomes easy (and perhaps accurate) to paint things along demographic lines.
It's not without reason, but the underlying causes are myriad.

That's not exactly true. Look at Africa. Korea. Etc.

Being racially or culturally homogenous in no way garuntees peace.

His statement doesn't guaarantee peace with homogeneity, it just guarantees violence with untenable diversity

Good points. Clashing of culture is definitely a factor, but we loves our guns here.

Hell, cops in the U.K. aren't even armed.

What are the demographics of Japan?

My first thought.

Of course if there was a country, state, or even a city of nothing but White People then a certain group of people would be screaming "that is racist."

Iceland.

Used to be Scandinavia before they let in so many immigrants. Who then began raping their women and murdering them.

African countries aren't that homogenous either since each country may have dozens of tribes with their own customs and languages.

Nope. Great Britain and Australia are already up there when it comes to violent crime. In fact, I believe Great Britain is higher than the USA now.

Right. I have said this before, but gun ownership in this country was not given to us for hunting, or protecting your house from a crackhead. We have the right to bear arms against a forceful government. Every government that has ever existed has forced itself onto its citizens. We'll be the first to have the ability to fight back, if the right isn't slowly taken from us.

Valid point, but you could say the same about many other nations. There's always dialect and cultural differences. Can't really argue that they are more violent in the modern age though.

There's always going to be people different than you.

Some cultures don't seemed to have progressed past killing them.

It's not just race or even religion. Africa may be racially homogeneous, but it's tribal rivalries make the Arabs and Jews look like Simon and Garfunkel.

See the Hutus and Tutsis in Rwanda as an example.

This article is full of fail. The U.S. and Japan just aren't comparable at all. Japan, as an island nation, has much, much easier control over its borders. You can ban guns there because no one else can import any back in. In the U.S., however, if guns were banned an illegal trade would immediately lead to the smuggling in of thousands through the porous Mexican border--basically meaning that criminals, at least, would still easily be armed.

To quote Sam Harris, "If you believe that the armed forces of the United States might one day come for you, and you think your cache of small arms will suffice to defend you, I’ve got a black helicopter to sell you"

Does it also mention that they are all the same race and religion and culture. If the USA would be all white Catholics, our numbers would mirror theirs.

Guns have been strictly controlled in Japan since about the 16th century. There was never widespread gun ownership. Your argument is pure shite.
