But if it rains, even a little, and you don't leave work before 4:30, you will definitely be in traffic for over 30-45 minutes on that stretch.
I disagree. My biggest issue in on i110 before the split, and up to Acadian. That's where I spend the most time on my commute home.

That's a design standard set by the DOTD
Is this a Louisiana DOTD thing?
There are interstates in Houston (I-45) that don't have a left shoulder sometimes.

I don't hate that idea, mikel.

No, it was really terrible last Thursday. I didn't see any accidents on Google Maps or as I drove in. It was just congested beyond recognition.
@TeddyPadilac, it is a LaDOTD thing but most interstates will have 4' inside shoulders and 10' (or something close to that) outside shoulders in rural areas where there are only two lanes in each direction with a 64' median.
Older interstates may have toned down shoulders, like I-10 on some bridges here in town or on I-110, but that's because of a lot of design constraints in heavily urbanized areas.

The original plan in early 80s was for it to extend to somewhere but I was too young to recall where. and would be a T there to go to Siegen.

There were a shite ton of people lined up on the Gardere side of Burbank @Lee trying to take the first U-Turn back towards Lee Dr. Anyone know why?

had an idea yesterday or remembered something from years ago.
Burbank was always supposed to be extended south east.
Can't this be done within 3 years to extend down the bayou(behind CCL) and link up to 10 around bluff road? An interchange there would be nice anyhow. What yall think as far as something feasible to help out some traffic in the immediate future. Highland/ Siegen/ Perkins in that area is a total frickjob right now.

More I look at it, the idea may need to make a sharper turn north to create a viable ramp to 10 east or west right there, avoiding the bluff road overpass all together. Not much structurally in the way right there.
Traffic people, make it happen!!! that can be done by 2018.

There are some low lying areas behind the country club and and on south...not sure how easy that would be. Having to cross those areas with structure would increase the cost and probably hamstring it.
It's a great idea for connecting westbound traffic to LSU and vice/versa.
