If you have to ask you can’t afford them.

No "true" Cajun would ever pay over $4 for a lb live or boiled.

Dude that is about the same price as south LA the past few weeks. They finally went down yesterday

Those are great prices for somewhere 550 miles away

First, that's wild they're so expensive in BR.

Secondly, they're the size of crickets up here.

Figure half of that in meat yield and you're looking at $8 a pound. For that price I'm eating steak. Let the rest of the country support the crawfish farmers. That's always their favorite excuse other than everything else: Texas pays and drives the price up. Well, let Texas support them, then. I'll enjoy this delicious cow.

I know a few guys that are big in crawfish

They said Monday that the price was going down this week. I'll try to find out when it should drop again

Honestly, I dont really care about the price for live

I am paying because I get to drink beer for hours without having to have any responsibility for my kids because I am around a dangerous hot pot...... And not only does my wife not get mad, she thinks I am doing her and everyone a favor

We bought a batch of lives at the tail end (pun intended) of last season and no lie, we debated just throwing them away when we picked them up

They were about the size of just the tail on an averaged sized crawfish.

The guy at the business saw our faces and asked where we were from and my buddy and I said Baton Rouge. He apologized for the batch and gave them to us for basically nothing and threw in some boil mix.

They were nearly unpeelable

ETA:

But they tasted good and he's now earned my business for as long as he wants it
