How hard in Louisiana to get prescribed Hydroxychloroquine & Z-pak?

If I were to walk into a Louisiana emergency room or Dr. office with symptoms similar to Covid-19, how easy could I obtain a script for the Hydroxy/Z-pak/Zinc combo being touted by some as the silver bullet to knock out Covid-19?

i wouldn't go to ER, go to regular doc....

Hospital is not going to write it for you unless you are very high risk or are sick enough to need supplemental oxygen
Now, your own doctor might write you a script. We are still suggesting not to in the ambulatory setting though

It depends on if the doctor is willing to screw over someone who actually needs hydroxychloroquine.

Just spoke to my pharmacist and she said Louisiana board of pharmacy has said no filling without positive test. I looked on their website and that is not what I understand. They have backed off that. I could be wrong. I have a telemedicine doctor saying he would prescribe because of my underlying conditions but not sure if its legal for that to be done. I wonder if online pharmacies in Louisiana or any other state would fill it? Dont want to get crossed up with the dea or feds on this. Any suggestions.

Feds or DEA aren't going to come after you because a doc prescribes you a non-controlled substance for an approved therapeutic purpose
whether or not an individual pharmacist decides to fill it is up to their understanding of their BoP's regulations, their company policy, and their own judgement.

I dont mean to be ignorant. But if a out of state telemedicine doctor thstbo telemedicine with prescribed this medicine and finds a online pharmacy in any state,is it legal for him to prescribe it at a out of Louisiana pharmacy, they fill it and shipp it to me?

that's up to that individual online pharmacy.
states usually require any out of state pharmacy be licensed in the states they want to dispense.
if the online pharmacy is licensed in louisiana, they probably can fill it for you. the pharmacy will tell you if they can or cant fill for you
for the doc, the doc has to be licensed in your state to practice medicine. if he cant legally see you, he won't take your appointment

This is correct. Dr's are trying to get around it by writing scrips for RA. A decent pharmacist will verify that diagnosis from the Dr. before filling.
