Not too much longer. The idiots are breeding at a much higher rate so we are getting closer every day.

Society is headed in two directions, half towards Idiocracy the other half to Wall-E.
Nope they are just two sides of the same coin.
As to those saying Idiocracy was a terrible movie they are correct. Not well made, bad acting, and all sorts of visual negatives. This said, the plot line and context are probably dead on point and you have to look past the physical movie to the actual concepts it raises. Like Wall-E, it is a change from the two usual futuristic movie themes of utopian societies or death / destruction.
Based on breeding trends to fatter and dumber, these two movies are a more reality based future. Smart breeding pairs are remaining childless or having single issue with lower probability to increase sufficient breeding populations. Years ago a sperm bank was loaded with Nobel scientist yet it was not getting takers till athletes and physically attractive sperm was added to the bank.
Darwin was not correct in that we do not breed to get better we just breed to take notice AKA the peacock effect. Lots of dumb jocks and entertainers with money to breed at the expense of folks who would actually improve the overall population gene pool.

If not for that pesky Electoral College. And 2020 will be a different story with the current winners in charge of your side of the aisle.
