From my experience you will start out with:

quote:

Is there a trick to pick the lock

And after an hour or 2 you will:

quote:

go all out and use a hammer and screw driver and pry it open and not worry about the damage

So save yourself the time and effort and just rip the fricking thing apart.

Trust me.

you need a mobile drill press with a tungsten bit to core the lock

Cut a hole in cabinet in back, access files, push back against wall

My advice would be to flip it over and go at it from the back side.

If you faint have the skills to pick it call a locksmith and while he is there have him cut you a new key.

If it's not worth the cost of the cabinet go to town with the hammer and screwdriver. A pry bar works better though.

If you are asking the question you probably don't have the skills or tools to drill the lock out.

Order some of those x-ray glasses from comic books and just use them to look through it and read what you want

I got in, after I had to disable the alarm, I pulled the top drawer jut open enough to bend the rod/lock, stuck my arm in there and broke the lock and pulled the top drawer out. The bottom drawer was still locked so I broke the lock even more....I ended up cutting my hand and arm pretty bad so as soon a I clean up the blood I'm heading to the hospital to get stitched up. Just wanted to give you an update....

I'll post pics later of the aftemath

I know you don't think anyone will notice, but stitches mean blood, and blood means evidence.

Get some ammonia then burn the place to the ground.
