I’ll check it out, thanks. I know literally nothing about it but it would definitely make for some entertaining games that otherwise wouldn’t be

Watch the games. Dry run some bets and see how you’d do and just go with your gut.

To me Vegas is really goddamn good at setting spreads so if you read an injury report and bet your almost at 50/50 when picking teams just because Vegas is usually so close to the line.

I’m up 415 this week. Hit a 4 team parlay last night snd won a few straights to go +270 yesterday

I don't do too much of it, but when I do I look for a subset of games that fit certain criteria and then bet all of those and only those.

For example, you want to fade ranked favorites with unranked opponents the weekend before Thanksgiving. Most years you'll win a good bit more than you lose. (This is ATS.)

Or you can always bet against NBA teams playing the second half of a back to back. They lose about 2/3 of the time. (This is SU.)

I’ve been looking at different betting sites but have no idea which is the best. All I hear is ads for MyBookie and enter promo code: whoever the frick is plugging it

Thanks for the tip. I need to google what a parlay is though. I don’t even go to the casino unless a group of friends want to go. Then I collect my free drinks

Just watch what you are doing. Pay attention to spreads and outcomes and learn. I don’t gamble much anymore, but college football and basketball used to be if a ranked team was an underdog on the road to an unranked team, they’d almost always lose.

First off, think of it like a business. But I must warn you, you’ll no longer look at teams anymore, you’ll see only individual players who help/hurt your wins and losses on your bets. Really takes the fun out of just watching a game before the betting started.

The “want” for your team to win should take backseat to using your research and your brain. You can do very well if you apply yourself though. I certainly did until it started ruining the experience of watching games, then I hung it up.

Good luck in your betting journey!

parlays are fun, but more fun for the casinos...they roll it in.

parlay = bet more than 1 game, have to win them all for reduced odds

I just wish our politicians would get off their collective asses and open up the sports betting apps that we've voted in favor of TWICE now.

Start out small ($5 bets) and bet a lot. Keep good records and follow trends. Early in the season in College Football is the time to go strong, you will see spreads that don't make much sense.

Follow a lot of handicappers until you find a few who really know what they are doing. The honest ones will say, "I can't guarantee you will come out ahead at end of the season, but I will help you lose more slowly."

College and NFL futures are great money making opportunities. Don't bet Bama to win (odds are too low, but look at the send tier of teams like UGA, Clempson, TOSU, Oklahomo, etc.)

Pay attention of the juice (if betting online, it moves all the time). Parlays are fun, but very hard to hit.

The NFL is so even, it is almost impossible to win 50% of the time. One guy I follow says, "make money on college to lose on the NFL.

If you bet the over you can "put it to bed," but you have to nurse the under until the final whistle.

If/when you graduate to higher stakes only bet a few games a week. I like to bet a game in every time slot, it just keeps me interested. Two years ago I nearly bankrupted the Golden Moon Casino on SB prop bets, this year, they bankrupted me.

Look at it as fun, you're not going to make any money in the end (they don't build casinos off people winning), but it is great entertainment.

I have gambled pro and college football for years getting mixed results. Two years ago I started listening to the RJ Bell podcast called RJ Bells Dream Preview. His pod cast has really helped me develop strategies instead of going with my gut. His team shares a ton of stats and tips.
I think he does basketball and baseball, but I have never listed to any.
