Option 2: Take someone's place who can't make the parade and just ride (this is as much fun without the commitments).

I did this for Endymion once. Had a good time.

Endymion is hard to get into due to the long waiting list (or was when I lived in New Orleans).

Wear a bow tie and you automatically get in.

Re: Thoth
Like others here have said, Thoth is not that hard to get into if you know someone who rides. I was a float Lt.for years and now a co-Lt. The krewe allows the Lt.'s to fill the open spots. My float typically loses a couple guys each year but we usually have the spots filled before the guy is officially out. If you keep asking I'm sure someone will help you get in. Happy Mardi Gras!

I have a well-known Krewe that me and my African prince friend started. I'll send you my PayPal information and you can donate to join.

Been in Endymion for 18 years, beyond fun. Friday and Saturday of the parade are some of the best days of the year. It can be expensive, dues around $1,000, plus beads, hotel, and other small fees. Have to know someone and get on the list or try to be a substitute rider. I would imagine most krewes are the same and all are probably a good time.
