How do you guys prefer your web browsing experience? Links opening new tab/window or no?

Basically, you click a link, it will either open on the same tab or a new one. Which do you prefer?

external links should open a new tab. internal links should stay in the same tab. If I want the internal link going to a new tab i can always 'ctrl click' and make that happen
