Had one of those this summer. Doc said it was an ulcer on the back of my throat. Dealing with it was so painful. It felt like every time I ate I was swallowing my own tongue.

Never had one there or heard of one there, but IANAD. I will occasionally get them on the inside of my lower lip. My mom always said it was a lack of vitamins, but she says a lot of stuff, so who knows? Kanka or some other topical numbing gel usually helps ease the annoyingness of it.

I don't think there is anything that you can do to get rid of it...just gotta ride it out...
since it is way back in your throat, you can't use anbesol...I would use chloraseptic spray or sucretes lozenges to try to keep it tolerable until it heals...

Some people don't know the difference in a canker sore and a fever blister.
The answer is; there's nothing you can do except numb it and not eat anything that will irritate it. They're hereditary, I get them every couple months and it sucks.
