Gonna second SchoolDigger. You can get good info just crawling around their website. If you care to pony up a few bucks you can download the raw spreadsheets and do whatever with them. My wife and I just bought a house in a very highly rated public school zone, in no small part because of the data furnished from that site.

I was hoping UpToPar was thinking about the kid when he said the hottest teachers. Isn't that how it works these days?

Niche's ratings aren't bad and are getting better in time. GreatSchools is a good resource for all public schools. It shows demographics, test scores, school size, etc and gives a rating from 1-10 for essentially every public school.

Niche does public and private rankings. I think GreatSchools is better for public but Niche is by far the most comprehensive for private schools.

Where did you just move? Providing that info might get you some better responses

I did private for mine from toddler.
Waldorf-Steiner modified by Montessori until 8.

I would go Montessori there.

Church school of my teeny Buddhist sect until high school.<= High expectations.
All blonde except mine.

Tamalpais union high of mill valley CA.
High school diverse Chinese and Indian and Jewish and rich white with a leavening of blacks from projects in Sausalito.
There are private schools for the rich in the county. My daughter won the county academic decathelon 9th grade. Was offered scholarship to one of the private schools and we would still have had to pay like college. No thanks.

I credit the Waldorf-Steiner time as getting them to enjoy learning and being in school.
