My Nectar was just delivered. I am mesmerized watching it expand.
I'll deliver some reviews tomorrow.
Update: I just ditched a 16 year old Tempur-Pedic. There's a reason those things cost so much. They are good. Firm, heavy, with strong edges. The Nectar is a good memory foam mattress, but not as good as the TP. Sleeps pretty cool for memory foam. It is softer, slightly spongier than TP's medium price point mattress. But it was a third of the price, so a good buy. Thumbs up from Slippy's mattress blog.

Cold is the key.
It’s the principle of shrinkage.

What's the manufacturer's cost on that large piece of foam? $200?

Mattresses offer one of the best profit margins in retail. .... mattresses have a markup in the 40 to 50 percent range, according to Consumer Reports. According to one study, a $3,000 mattress might only cost $300 to manufacture — a 900 percent markup.

So which Kardashian is this? Don't watch those shows, so I'm out of the loop.

The foam itself is probably pennies.
Not sure if still true, but a lot of the memory foam chemicals are made in Geismar at BASF.

And people cry over gas prices

The important question is if you don’t like it and want to return it how the heck do you do that?

Foam requires an A and B side. Low density foam chemicals cost around $1.50/lb. I’m not sure of the yield to spray a mattress though.

I am disappointed... A rich New Orleans lawyer should have a down feather bed. S would spit his bit over such foolish purchase.

You don't send them back. They donate them to a local charity that is willing to pick them up.
