The guy posted multiple threads about trials. Would even talk about how he was going to go into court later in the day and sentence some guy to a ridiculous amount of time. Would laugh and brag about the fate of these people before the court proceedings were even over.
His thread started history was mind boggling

Agreed, but unless this poster knew about the bribe money, which is very unlikely, then my point remains.

Exactly. And I hope karma bites them in the arse. Like I said, way too much time on their hands and such a poor use of said free time.

A little off topic, but that guys grammar is absolute shite.

Look no further than Blue Hog Report. That's who broke the story that geauxjudge = Mike Maggio. It ultimately stemmed from the fact that he was disclosing confidential details about Charlize Theron's adoption case in Arkansas. Someone--an LSU fan apparently--contacted a lawyer and blogger in Arkansas, who started looking at geauxjudge's posts and figured out who he really was.
I hope it's not true that someone on here ratted him out

I also hope not. However, he wasn't very well disguised. Sort of seemed to be in love with being a judge and getting to post and boast about it.

It's messed up about the ratting but a judge is held to a much higher standard.
Imo they are some of the most powerful people in the world. How would you like to be facing a sentencing tomorrow and your judge was on here tonight making a thread and laughing about how he is going to drop the hammer on you tomorrow?

It was incredibly unethical, and he should have known better. I wouldn't be surprised if the reason somebody bothered to look into him further was because that person recognized that something should be done. Personally I didn't give it much thought at the time, but in hindsight he had it coming even without the bribery.

U would be very surprised to know some if the posters on here. He aint the only judge lol

Are you kidding me? The guy told everyone on TD that he was a judge and he was posting confidential details of an adoption case. That's unethical and maybe illegal (I'm not familiar with the law regarding that). I'm extremely happy that someone figured out who he was and exposed him. I'm even happier that it led to his bribery being uncovered.
Don't forget, he was a judge in my home state. Getting rid of a corrupt judge where I grew up is an occasion to be celebrated, and I'm grateful to whoever doxxed him.
Imagine how the families of the nursing home victims feel. Think they give a frick if someone destroyed the corrupt judge's sports forum anonymity?
On top of the obvious unethical behavior and illegal behavior, the guy simply did not have the character that is befitting of a judge. That was obvious from his posting habits.
He deserved everything he got.

I don't disagree at all. What he did was completely inappropriate and stupid on many levels. I'm just saying I hope someone with nothing to gain didn't go out of their way to out him.
You reap what you sow putting anything on the internet, especially something confidential as a person with power. However, but I hope it was discovered organically and not just someone being an a-hole.

Get out of here with this mess. With great power comes great responsibility. You don't hold that much power and think you can hide behind a keyboard to act like an arse without knowing the potential consequences. For pete's sake his username was geauxjudge. I praise the poster who ratted him out. Too many people try to hide behind keyboards because they are to cowardly to be who they actually are IRL.

There is an ethics hour continuing legal education seminar given by the Arkansas judicial review board (or whatever they call their disciplinary arm for the judiciary) and they talk about him in it.
If what they say is accurate, he was actually stupid enough to call the judicial board ahead of time to check and see if there were any special precautions he needed to take in order to protect the identity of the confidential celebrity adoption taking place in his courthouse in the upcoming days. He blabbed to them about the identity of the celebrity, and so they began googling Charlize Theron and adoption. Bam...they uncovered his posts here about the adoption within days of him posting them. They were able to confirm his identity because of all of the other shite he had posted about his life.
When they really started digging into his posts, they found lots of troubling things. Aside from the loose lips he had about cases in front of him, he made many pejorative statements about women in divorce cases (he presided over divorce cases) and other sexist remarks. Rape jokes. The usual for here really, but not a good look for a sitting judge, particularly when combined with his failure to keep his mouth shut.
In the CLE, they show many screen shots of his posts--not just the ones related to the adoption, but others. At one point, his post had "CSB" in it. The guy giving the CLE asked if anyone knew what that meant and of course it flew out of my mouth without thinking. Which led to him saying, "Oh...if you know that abbreviation then maybe you will know the next one." Which led to me having to yell out "put it in her butt" in the middle of the seminar. Which led to me having to explain why I knew that to my colleagues from around the country. It would have been slightly less awkward if I weren't female.
