I've gotten a call from MYSELF........ My name popped up on my screen and all I could do was answer in amazement........ It really is getting crazy. I've already put in "do not call" but that doesn't work any longer.

I'm pretty sure your cell provider sells your info.. Att, Sprint, T-Mobile..etc

If you have time / what works for me:
(1) Go through the motion to get a live person on the line;
(2) Say you are on the do not call list and what they are doing is illegal;
(3) Tell them that you have their number/name/info and are reporting them
After doing that for a week the number of calls I have received have really dropped. Won't work on everyone, but it'll scare enough people to limit the scam calls you get

I was getting those calls constantly! Same guy, same background noise every time. He got real pushy finally stopped calling after going totally ballistic on him, guess he got the message.

Hi, everyone. I’m sorry that calls from this number have sparked concern. The phone number 225-578-8096 is LSU’s annual giving call center number, operated by the LSU Foundation. Student callers periodically call LSU alumni to ask them to consider investing in academics at LSU. Please feel free to contact the LSU Foundation Annual Giving office with any concerns at annualgiving@lsufoundation.org.

They're calling all the numbers. And they prefer to spoof numbers in the same block so you're more likely to answer.
And, the DNC lists are worthless because these are illegal operations being run mostly out of the subcontinent (and Africa).
If it makes you feel better, some folks are actively fighting back against them. My favorite guy has a youtube channel called The Hoax Hotel. Check it out if you want to see someone fight back in an extremely entertaining way.

I probably get 2 or 3 of these calls a day.. And they are from all over. Indiana, Florida, etc.. But there is one number that has been consistent. It is from Albany, La.

These telemarketers suck so badly
Sometimes I even answer to try to talk to someone on the other line to waste their time. More often than not you can't even get through to someone and the call just drops

If you ever want to get back at someone for something, just do one of the online insurance searches under their phone number. They will get multiple calls per day for years.
I like that idea. I think I'll do that to some of my former coworkers.
