How can masks be very effective to stop the spread while restaurants being open is ok?

So, masks are so effective we need to make it a mandate, yet, we are allowed to sit in restaurants and chew and drink our fat asses away maskless.

I went to a restaurant in Beaumont last week. They told me masks were required when I walked in. Once I sat down I looked around and noticed not a single patron was wearing a mask at the table, food in front of them or not. I asked the waitress about it and she said they only require them while you're up and walking around. wtf?

Masks are effective at reducing spread by cough or sneeze. They don't do diddlyshit in regards to talking or breathing.

Your virus would, theoretically, contained at your table. You would, theoretically, would not be spreading your virus as you moved about the restaurant
