How bad is it to talk to strangers in the men's room?

I try not to be homophobic but I thought it was understood you don't speak to strangers in the men's room? I just walked into a gas station men's room and walked straight for the pisser. A dude was washing his hands and said y'all got this that and the other. Like I was from there. I said I'm not from around here. He was obviously a trucker because he then commented on the weather an hour up the road. I said nothing but wonder if that was how gay truckers hook up? Do they talk to each other in the men's room? I have read gay graffiti on the stalls, so I know they're out there. This guy was a fatty. I'm way out of his league. Even if he is gay, he is out of line.

People are usually just nervous so they say the most obvious, agreeable thing that comes to mind like "boy can you believe the president?" or "man that rebeloke sure makes some shitty threads, amirite?" or "I hear it's supposed to rain".

Assuming this was a truck stop, truckers use the hidden restroom behind the drivers lounge. That was just your run of the mill gay.

I've never really understood people's hang-ups in the men's room. Don't give a frick if you stand right next to me when I'm pissing, talk to me, pat me on the back, etc. So many insecure closeted homo tough guys out there that get freaked out by stuff like that.
