I’d like to but the prices don’t make sense. I do hate how Home Depot and Lowe’s have become glorified Bed Bath and Beyonds, but they have good prices on lumber.

I'll gladly pay the small premium for quality lumber. With the big boxes I tend to have to sort through half the stack to find good 2x material that doesn't have wane or heart and isn't soaking wet and more crooked than a Chicago politician.

Edit: thanks MBclass83

Home Depot lumber should only be purchased when all other lumber yards are closed such as after 5pm on a weekday or after noon on Saturday or sundays.

How much is your time worth and how much is HD going to save you?
Un-picked, their lumber is lacking.

I had a pallet of flooring delivered and ready to pick up on Black Friday last year. It was a fricking shite show trying to navigate a pallet jack through the store.

I went to the one here in Savannah at about 7:30 after dropping wife off at the airport to kill some time before work. Wasn't bad at all. Got a $70 step ladder for $35, a $100 shop vac for $39 an some 99 cent poinsettas and a wreath for 12.

Went for some building materials for the house, walked out with roughly $2k worth of tools for $800. The tools aren’t for me though.
