I have 3 boys below the age of 8, every toy they get is a Lego it seems requiring ol dad to build. Then after hours of assembly the younger brother comes in and smashes that shite in 5 min.

Make that older boy build the sets himself. Then keep those up on a shelf and only let the “big boys” play with them. Make sure to rub it in when the careless little smashers get mad about It. Worked on my nephew.

We built legos today. We made a blanket fort. We cleaned the ceiling fans. We made up games. Read scary stories. Cooked.
When the power went out we brought a big pot and burner in, filled it with water and lit it up to make a space heater.
Had a good day with the kids, and now that they are gone just drinking some and cooking and creating a spice rub for a friend to sell. Her recipe was shite so we fixed it.
