What better way to honor a man that was assassinated?

I must have missed the part where MLK was killed with a Remington 870 loaded with dove shot.

So retarded.

"We're deeply sorry for any offense or harm caused by our insensitivity and failure to provide appropriate oversight of our marketing process," Robins spokesman Roland Leach said in an email Thursday. "The flyer does not represent the values, opinions or views of the Department of Defense, the Air Force or Robins Air Force Base leadership and its employees."

Proper gun training and target practice dont represent the values or opinions of the department of defense?

And providing a place for training and practice for responsible gun owners on a day off doesnt represent their views either?

That's nerve racking.

frick how abrasive it is. That is one hell of a deal for lunch and two rounds if it really is giving the option of trap, skeet, or sporting clays.

Could've set up some targets for people that hold their Glocks sideways.
Seriously, it's a holiday. I went to a turkey shoot on President's Day a few years ago and heard no scuttlebutt despite the USA having had a few presidents on the wrong end of a gun. Everybody had fun, no one got shot and some money was raised for a good cause.

Sort of related story:

I was in 4th grade in 1998, and during a portion of the school day where our teacher would read the current events to us, she mentioned an article about how James Earl Ray had died.

This was around the time that I had just discovered Star Wars and The Sandlot was my favorite movie. Thinking that James Earl Ray was James Earl Jones, I stood up and screamed "No! He was a good man! I loved him!"

I imagine all my teacher could think was that I came from a family of white supremacists. Luckily we cleared up the confusion, but she still probably thought I was devastated that the man who assassinated MLK was dead. Funny to think back and laugh.

I love my base!

There are so many people here that are shocked and butthurt. I think it's nothing more than a hilariously misprinted flyer. Whoever came up with this in the marketing department obviously wasn't thinking of his assassination, and was just looking to get people out and about on a holiday.
