If moving from Louisiana. People will gladly pay the tolls about $5 per day. Jobs in TX pay more, cost of living less, no state income tax, schools are tremendously better.

I really don't understand why people feel the need to live so far away from where they work.

Commute isn't bad if your hours are flexible. I did it a few years by leaving for work around 5:30-5:45 and leaving work before 4. Toll road prices increase during rush hour, you can save a lot by getting off of it prior to the price hikes or carpool so it's free.

I have a friend who lives in The Woodlands and used to drive to MD Anderson for work every day. Not sure if it's a similar drive or what, but she said her round trip was between 2-3 hours a day. She ultimately left that job because of the commute.

Just curious why you're set on Spring?

I swear about half of Houston is from Louisiana. We live in Copperfield area. Several of our neighbors are teachers and they said basically all students from Louisiana whether private or public are assigned a tutor the first year regardless. Some need help in all subjects and some in only a couple, but nevertheless, behind the curve for sure.

Wife will have no problem getting a job with the hospitals in Houston and probably make about 20K more on average.
