Dallas is already getting one and it's under construction.

Dallas developer Kent Donahue plans to kick off a $1 billion resort-anchored development — which will include a Cabo-inspired blue lagoon — in style, with a ceremonial groundbreaking next week.
Man said he's seen a growing demand for man-made lagoons from the real estate community in Texas, with plans to develop similar projects in Houston, Austin and Galveston in the future.
This will be the 12th lagoon of this type in the United States, with an additional 42 lagoons being negotiated throughout the country. More than 300 of these lagoons exist in the world.

Really looking forward to this in DFW. The area is lacking in the resort industry. Gaylord is crappy - even their best suites are barely an upgrade and there is little to do outside special events - and the Four Seasons is in dire need of updates and offers little outside of tennis & golf.

as good as it look, the back of your minds know it's fake. And that's hard and try to overcome.

It wont be in houston, i live by the galleria and it wont be anywhere near me, it will be 45 minutes away at a minimum probably in humble or tomball or clear lake or some other middle of nowhere boonie town. Where else are you gonna find the acreage for that?

Good.
We don't have to go to shifty foreign countries for nice resorts.

Just truck some decent sand to Galveston, actually comb the beach every decade or so, and be done with it.

Fertitta isn't gonna let this guy come try and one up him anywhere near Galveston. That's a fact
