In 2022, my household consumed 21,000 KWH in what I consider not extravagant (avg sized home, family of 4, etc. but in hot summer region) -- must be menopause premium as wife keeps house freezing all year long!
ABOVE!

For chits & giggles, looked up water consumption too:

A little dated, but...

quote:

Each American uses an average of 82 gallons of water a day at home (USGS, Estimated Use of Water in the United States in 2015).

In 2022, my household consumed 100,000 gallons, closer to AVERAGE.

Conclusion, menopause temperature deserves its own scale (and budget)!

The Water/Sewer/Trash company i used has been overcharging me 200% per month the past 3 months in a row. Each time I've been able to get the bill rectified, but they havent been able to give me a reasonable explanation each time I've spoke to them.

The first month, I had to call every day for 9 days, because their system was down. I have no idea how these people got their jobs. Must be some sort of job outreach program for the developmentally disabled.

Oh I think you know who you're dealing with here.

You are also ignoring how many households are apartments.

I moved from a 2300ish sft house built in the 50's to a 2300ish sft house built in the 70's. I guarantee my electric use if more than average, I don't even care to look... My December bill was $400 but that was probably for November.

16,000 to 19,000 KWh/yr over the last 10 yrs and we are all electric. Many of the people in that survey probably heat home and water with fuel oil or gas and many in the north don't have A/C, which makes a big impact on the average reported.

We're on well water and have our own septic system.

Light bill averages ~$80/month.
Water bill averages ~$25/month.

Assuming I’m far below average on power, and pretty near average on water.
