Saw several lions in the Serengeti. We were in a Land Cruiser with a pop up top. The lions could have cared less about us. They are used to the vehicles but you never ever get out of the vehicle. They are used to the vehicles but not people outside the vehicles. There is a reason they had a sign saying keep the windows up.

We did that 2 or 3 times when we did the safari
