You realize that someone accepted this trip 5-15 mins before this, right? If the guy wasn't feeling well, he shouldn't have accepted the fare. They aren't "on the clock" like a regular cab.

Not an expert, but there is a price estimate button or something. Which is how you know when rates are higher for special events and such.

Lol, how much do you expect to pay for this? It takes time for someone to drive to your location, take you, in a city 0.8 miles could take 10 minutes, and then drive back to their waiting point. Plus you needed to use their car. I mean what did you expect to pay? $4, $5? Come on I hope not $2-3 that's absurd? So let's say $4, you are pissy about $2?
To the OP, yeah no way I'd take a ride with someone other than the Uber registered person driving. I'd leave a comment for sure and give a 1 star rating. They are likely

They probably barely broke even with $6 too. And you're bitching about them as though they were ripping you off?

Wouldn't a taxi charge you $2 or $3 before turning on the meter (price per passenger charge) ?

the problem is that driver is coming from wherever they are when you request, and passing on other rides. there are also per ride fees.

message uber, they will refund you. I had a guy 2 weeks ago who went the wrong direction to my place, there are 2 ways to go and one is way longer than the other. Good thing he didn't speak english so I couldn't even communicate with him that he was going the wrong way. Uber looked at the route he took and refunded me based on the route he should have taken

Uber normally has a $5 base charge, because the $1 actual fare (that the driver doesn't receive all of) isn't worth it for them to drive a few miles out of their way for a .8 mile trip.

Had one guy that was drinking when he picked us up and surling really bad, drove like a maniac, gave him a 1 star review.

You're lucky you quickly found a driver to pick you up for such a short trip. If I was in a time crunch and got someone to drive me less than a mile, then I would tip him a few bucks.
