Been trying to get my wife to leave one of these for years. But she prefers the Telly Savalas look. I ain't complaining though.

Looking at google earth there are so many cool looking way off the road places. Couple of places I found from the google maps.

If you were in the Greater Baton Rouge bar scene from 1975-1985, you or one of your friends knew him and knew what he was about. My Dad was in it, and knew him. My step dad was in it and knew Seal very well, and had him over to the house when I was a kid. He knew him too well actually.

Agreed. He lived just a few houses away from my dad and step mom.

Never understood why the property at the end of hoo shoo too got so gross.

One reason is it floods really bad back there. Like 6' of water flood. Doesn't attract the nicer residents that the front part of Hoo Shoo Too does.

Dr. Lou Cappazola had a grass airstrip on his land. He lived there for many years. That's the story.

But there are people that assure me Berrie was flying his plane into that field. Even though Cappazola built the house 20 years before Bury came along.

Previous owner was Lou Capozzoli Obit. As far as I know, just a man with plenty of money and a hobby for flying. And the expertise and resources to build a personal airstrip as founder and owner of a successful engineering firm in the 60's.

Got about 6 feet of water in the house despite it being on a hill. Helped gut the house as a summer job. House was built to withstand a lesser flood with raised outlets, cinder block exterior walls, but not up to the 2016 flood level.

I always thought it would be nice to build a camp high up off the ground back there along the Amite or Bayou Manchac.

Have a place to drop an aluminum boat into the river and winch it up.

I do miss the old boat launch back there. Gone like the old days of Louisiana Traveler boats, el caminos, and miller pony beers.

We had a thread about the property because it was for sale. They had interior/exterior shots on Zillow.

I'm sure it is out there, but there was an old hunting club down there by that name. But something about the old camp hand and how he pronounced "Who she belong to?" when members brought their wives around.

I probably screwed that up some.

Cool house and property, although without any furniture or flooring, it looks more like a commercial building than a home to me. I'd like to see it with a good interior decorator's full treatment. That thing must have flooded numerous times, not just in 2016.

I think 2016 was the only time it flooded, at least since the house was built. Saying that based on the formerly white shag carpet that looked like it was from the 80s that we had to haul out after the flood. House is built on top of the bluff so the water floods everything around it first.
