Actually both Babylonia and Greece are good examples of how advanced ideas/learning do not necessarily advance societies that do nurture those advancements over time. Translation: faction infighting and decadence can stifle even the most advanced societies. Unfortunately we are seeing the same symptoms in our own nation today.
