Hey, Hammond... how are those traffic circles working out?

Gotta say... I was driving back to Baton Rouge from Covington and decided to get a coffee at that Pilot station at the corner of Hwy 51... so I went through three traffic circles to get there... and it was an A-OK experience!

Used to take 30 min to get thru at 5 pm now its 3 min. Id say success. Other than the threat of 18 wheelers getting on curb and flipping

The trucks take up both lanes as they go around. And most of the idiot drivers there have no idea how to traverse them.

They're not traffic circles... Roundabouts... and they're working pretty damned well. They still have to come back and re-pave, stripe and put some more signs in though, so they're not quite finished.

They are awesome, that intersection was hell. I would avoid it at all costs, now I just cruise through.

Those are called truck aprons and they are designed for the truck to ride up on them. They aren't going to flip. Roundabouts are thousand times better than a traffic light and they will still work after a hurricane.

That is what they are suppose to do. That is why you aren't suppose to enter a roundabout if an 18 wheeler in the roundabout.
