It just shows that the government isn't willing to do something that it doesn't have complete control over.
If you can provide something that makes more since to me then by all means enlighten me. This is just my take on the situation... There is no other logical reason that I can think of for it to be illegal. It will always come down to government/big business losing money or not getting all the money.

I was a pothead once and had pothead friends. None of us grew. Sure some people will grow their own and the gov will want to prevent that. More tax money will of course make it more attractive. But its stupid to say the main reason the gov is keeping it illegal bc it'll lose tax money on the home growers. Every time the issue comes up for debate, do you hear law enforcement or the Dept of Revenue speaking against legalization? Do you hear politicians saying "I'll propose a bill to legalize when I can be sure we'll get 80% of the revenue and not 70%. Until then, I'm happy with 0%."?

You mustn't keep up with the issue. Just a couple months ago in La the legislature debated medical marijuana and lessening possession penalties. Both were shot down with quickness. The DA and Sheriff associations were out in full force. They love the power they have and the drug war money. That's your answer.

Mr. Runningtiger, I agree with you 100%. It makes me sad when I see young people using this crap. I've known two kids who have died from drugs. Their families are devastated.
