If it was one or two people I would understand. We’ve had 11 people die. Maybe it’s time to increase the fines to thousand dollars.

Maybe it’s time to let people fend for themselves. I live in PCB and have for years. You can’t fix stupid or protect someone from their stupidity

Exactly. Conservatism actually is a lot about making sure the population does the right thing.

Does the right thing huh? What exactly does this mean to you? Kind of leaves it open to interpretation of whoever is in charge doesn’t it? No thanks.

Rip currents. Rip currents will take you out to sea and then you wash up on a beach where people are speaking Spanish.

Been in PCB since Sunday. It’s been red flag (not double) each day. Lots of people here, but I’ve not seen anyone in trouble due to the rip currents. But then again, I’ve spent half my last 2 days playing golf.

The county went to single red on Sunday. Last week was really bad.

I hope you’re playing some courses in Destin like Kelly P or Regatta bay.

Nah, frick all that. If I want to dive in on double red and ride a rip tide out to fist fight a tiger shark feeding frenzy, I should be able to do so

That’ll be a bad day for our Deep South redneck brothers.

I heard Ryan Mallett died in a rip current last week. Not sure how true it is.

We were at the beach last week, in bay county, it was double red all week. The wind was still, it was hot but with little kids we stayed out of the water. As someone that grew up at the beach, spending nearly every waking moment not at school at the beach in my youth (albeit the Atlantic), I was pretty frustrated. At first I thought it was just cya by bay county. We swam in much worse conditions with rougher surf regularly. With that said, from the pictures from above that have come out this is for real and something to pay attention to. That being said, I feel like every year the double reds come out more and more. What has changed? Is it coincidence on the time I am going, they are quicker to pull the trigger, or is there some sort of fundamental change? I am not really interested in water you can only get in when it is slick calm.

I mistakenly read your op as this and thought “ well that’ll be awkward and painful for both you and the shark”.
