re: Herald Sun Cartoonist Defends Racist, Sexist Serena Williams Cartoon

I made the mistake of venturing over to ESPN's tennis page.

As you might expect, half of the articles are written by the black panther party (aka the undefeated) supporting Serena.

That website is dead to me.

First for smashing her racket (cost her a point) then for berating the official (cost her a match).

Correction: She was going to lose the match regardless.

Well, she is huge for a woman and was super pissed that day so I’m not sure exactly what seems to be not true about this?

I’m sorry, how is this racist? If it’s a matter of race as you claim. Maybe you can explain this to all of us that are confused by this .

I don’t see how this is racist or sexist. Didn’t she throw a tantrum? Isn’t she a bigger gal? Isn’t that what her hair looked like?

It’s exaggerated because it’s a cartoon. I see much harsher exaggerations of Trump nearly every day.

I firmly believe many posters on here are racist as FUUUUUUUCK.

Yet, I dig this cartoon, and the right to do cartoons and other art forms like it.

I abhor censorship of art, through societal pressure or otherwise.

The critics of the cartoon were also outraged that Serena’s opponent is drawn as a thin blonde and light skinned.

No one seemed upset that the Hispanic umpire looks Caucasian in the cartoon, though.
