If you help a friend move into their new home, do you still get them a house warming gift?

Always bring a bottle of wine. It's just good practice and won't break the bank

Sure. A bottle of Crown Royal or Wild Turkey is what I would typically give. Or whatever it is that friend likes to drink.

Get him a gift certificate to a moving company. He'll get the not so subtle hint next time.

Your buddy won't care.

His wife/girlfriend will think you are cheap no matter what.

No gift.

If buddy gets mad, he is likely gay. Because he is really mad that you won't make out with him, not mad about the lack of gift.

And if you have a buddy that is closet gay, you are probably gay too.

On that note, just help him move then PIIHB. (His not hers)

Bring some liquor to crack open after the move.

Nothing like a cold beer or a glass of scotch after getting everything moved.

Your gift should be in proportion of the amount of pizza, BBQ and ice cold beer he provided. Don't go empty handed but if there are rules for a house warming he dang well better have followed the rules for moving sweat equity.
